A summary of our most recent Ofsted Inspection in March 2023:
- School Ethos & Environment: The school’s guiding ambition is for all pupils to be “STARS” (Shine, Teamwork, Achieve, Respect, and Smile). Inspectors noted that pupils are happy, feel safe, and display highly positive attitudes toward learning.
- Curriculum Design: The curriculum is praised for being methodical and well-structured. What students need to learn is mapped out step-by-step so that teachers know exactly what to teach and when.
- Teaching Quality: Teachers demonstrate strong subject knowledge and effectively adapt lessons to meet diverse pupil needs, utilizing classroom resources to support understanding.
- Reading Focus: Reading development is a major strength. Early reading books are accurately matched to children’s phonetic abilities, while Key Stage 2 pupils benefit from a structured comprehension approach to navigate complex texts.
- Community & Parental Support: Parents and carers express a strong appreciation for the warm, caring ethos of the school and feel well-informed and supported by the staff.
